Other MAISY Data Products

MAISY (Market Analysis and Information System) Databases have been developed from information on more than 1 million individual utility customers throughout the US and Canada. Several standard data products, based on frequent client requests, are also available. Any of MAISY variables can be also provided in a custom database extraction or customized data products.

Electricity and Natural Gas Use Tables

Electricity and Natural Gas Use Tables provide the easiest to use, most direct source of information on commercial, industrial and residential customers for each state and for utility service areas within states. Tables provide basic energy use information including information required to segment the market and target profitable customers. Tables are available for commercial, industrial and residential customers.

Tables are developed to meet individual client information needs and can include annual, monthly, daily and 8760 energy use characteristics for electricity and natural gas for (1) SIC/employment market segments (industrial and commercial ) and (2) income/demographic and dwelling unit residential segments. Both volumetric (kWh and Therms) and hourly load data can be included.

Summary

Developed from proprietary survey and bill information on more than one million utility customers, Electricity and Natural Gas Use Tables provide basic electricity use and natural consumption information required to segment the market and target profitable customers. Tables are provided in Excel workbooks and are available for commercial, industrial and residential customers.

Table detail includes:

Customer Electricity Use Data: Options include: (1) annual kWh and average annual peak kW or (2) monthly kWh and monthly peak kW for January - December or (3) monthly kWh, monthly peak kW, monthly bills for January - December (for service area tables only)
Commercial Segments: 200 sic-based business activities for up to 15 establishment sizes
Industrial Segments: 50 manufacturing activities for up to 6establishment sizes (includes : 2,3, and 4-digit SIC-based categories covering all manufacturing activities with detailed identification of the most energy intensive manufacturing industries.
Residential Segments: 5 income, 5 demographic and 3 dwelling unit residential customer categories
Locations: Utility service areas, states/provinces, user-specified geographic areas

The Electricity Use Tables allow electricity providers to evaluate customer segment differences in revenue and cost of service providing more accuracy in profitability assessments and target marketing. The Electricity Use Tables provide the end results of detailed market segmentation and electricity use analysis conducted by Jackson Associates. Table results are provided in Excel Workbooks and be can be applied immediately without any processing or interpretation.
