Texas REP Profits Get a Boost With New Electricity Use Tables

Durham, N.C., May 16, 2002. Jackson Associates today introduced Texas Electricity Use Tables developed specifically to improve profitability of Retail Electricity Providers (REPs) operating in deregulated Texas markets.

"The state of Texas has applied some innovative concepts to foster competition; however, certain customer information, which is critical in determining REP profitability is not readily available" says Dr. Jerry Jackson, president of Jackson Associates. "Texas Electricity Use Tables provide the easiest-to-use and most direct source of information required by REPs to segment the market and target those customers who are most profitable."

Texas Electricity Use Tables include annual and monthly kWh, kW and typical bills for detailed market segments in all competitive Texas utility service areas. Data are provided for as many as 100 commercial SIC business categories and 70 industrial SIC categories and for up to nine employee size ranges within each category. Data are available for 75 income/demographic/ dwelling unit categories in the residential sector.

The Tables allow REP's to evaluate customer segment differences in revenue and cost of service providing more accuracy in profitability assessments and target marketing. The Electricity Use Tables provide the end results of detailed market segmentation and electricity use analysis developed from Jackson Associates proprietary electric customer survey and billing data. Table results are provided in Excel Workbooks and be can be applied immediately without any processing or interpretation.
