State Regulatory Applications
With competitive electric market retrenchment and continuing oversight
responsibility in states where deregulation plans are proceeding, regulatory
needs have significantly increased in most states over the last several years.
MAISY state and utility service area databases and policy models can help
fill current analysis needs. Jackson Associates has worked with utilities
and state regulators across the US since 1982, addressing capacity expansion,
DSM, integrated resource planning, rates and other issues. Our models and
analysis capabilities are highly regarded; for instance, all seven electric
utilities and the New York State Energy Office relied on Jackson Associates
customer database and model analysis to evaluate and address a wide variety
of regulatory issues.
Forecasting Products
Jackson Associates provides state-of-the-art econometric,
end-use and microsimulation models to meet forecasting and analysis needs
in the individual states.
MAISY End-Use Forecasting and Microsimulation models provide assessments
and forecasts of state energy use, prices, expenditures and the impacts of
future supply constraints. Detailed environmental forecasts support analysis
and evaluations of alternative energy supply scenarios including alternative
energy applications.
Basic Utility Customer Database Products
MAISY Utility Customer Databases have been developed from information
on more than one million individual utility customers throughout the US and
provide a representative sample of customers for individual states, regions
and utility service areas.
MAISY Utility Customer Database Products Include:

State
Utility Customer Databases provide extensive building structure,
building and end-use energy use, equipment, conservation, electricity, natural
gas and oil consumption data including hourly loads and other energy-related
variables along with traditional economic and demographic information for
utility customers throughout the US. Information on total energy and customer
counts as well as detailed customer and customer segment information is available
with a patented point-and-click data evaluation and exploration user interface.
All data in the state-level databases can be exported for analysis or use
with other software.

Service
Area Utility Customer Databases provide the same customer detail
as the State-Level Databases. Databases are available for any electric utility
service area including investor-owned utilities, municipal utilities, public
utility districts, and co-op areas.
Utility
Customer Hourly Load Databases include hourly load data for each
customer record in the state and utility customer databases. Hour loads are
available as (1) day-type/month with 24 hourly profiles for each of the three
day types (week day, peak day, week end day) and for each month for electric,
natural gas and fuel oil or (2) 8,760 hourly loads for the total building
and individual end uses for electricity, natural gas and fuel oil. Online
hourly loads and electricity bill estimates are now available at
dgmarketplace.com
Demand
Response and DSM Databases provide hourly
demand response (DR) and DSM potentials and estimated DR and DSM program
impacts for each customer in the State and Utility Service Area Databases.
These database extensions are provided on a custom basis.

MAISY
Canadian Province and Service Area Databases products incorporate
information from Statistics Canada, including population surveys, surveys
of employment payrolls and hours and labor force surveys along with data
from Canadian utilities, association data, proprietary Canadian customer
data as well on-site survey and utility billing data of commercial customers
from northern tier US states.
Australian Utility Customer Databases are available
for the 8 states and territories in Australia along with databases for
metropolitan areas and cities. Databases reflect 8760 weather data for individual
Australian locations.

Custom
Database Extractions are available for clients needing only a subset
of the MAISY database information. Custom data ranges from a few
summary statistics to large relational databases. If you have energy-related
information needs, Jackson Associates can provide the data.

Demand Response Potentials and Program Impacts
MAISY Demand Response Databases
provide hourly demand response (DR) potentials and estimated DR program
impacts in regulated and competitive markets.
MAISY Demand Response Databases include end-use-detailed and program-detailed
demand response (DR) potentials and estimated program impacts for a statistically
representative sample of individual residential, commercial and industrial
customers for every state and utility service area in the US. Customer detail
in the databases permits users to determine DR potentials and program impacts
for total customer classes (residential, commercial and industrial), user-defined
customer segments and individual customers.
DR databases include customer-detailed building, equipment and operating
information and 8760 hourly end-use (space heating, air conditioning, lighting,
process, etc.) loads from the MAISY Utility Service
Area Customer Databases along with DR end-use and program hourly load
potentials and program impacts including hourly kW potentials and program
impacts of standby/emergency generators.
MAISY Demand Response Databases are especially valuable in DR planning because
they include all service area customers and programs providing valuable
information on demand response resources available from customers not currently
included in many DR programs.
