Jackson Associates' current Grid Impact Model combines customer-level adoption, localized 8,760 hourly loads, grid-exposure screening and program economics. Its methods draw on decades of applications involving utility customers, emerging technologies, demand response and investment decisions.

The earlier Smart Grid Investment Model supported business-case evaluations for more than two dozen cooperatives and municipal utilities. That experience included technology benefits, vendor proposals, costs, realized benefits and financial decision metrics—the same practical orientation applied in GIM today.
